PRESS RELEASE
O. G. Brewer won the
inaugural William Hyndman III Senior Memorial
held at Huntingdon Valley Country Club,
Huntingdon Valley PA August 15, 16, 17, 2006.
The tournament is in memory of William Hyndman
III, a former member of Huntingdon Valley
Country Club and one of the top amateurs in the
country during his lifetime.
Brewer’s rounds of 73,74,73
(10 over par) were one shot better than Mike
Rose of Huntingdon Valley, PA and Mike Dougherty
of Warminster, PA. Brewer said “it was an honor
to win a tournament associated with William
Hyndman III. He was a great player and gave so
much back to the game.”
The tournament developed
out of the Lynnewood Hall Senior Division. The
Lynnewood Hall Challenge Trophy is the second
oldest amateur tournament in the country going
back to 1901.
