The Board of Directors of Huntingdon Valley CC is excited to announce the tournament dates for the 2011 William Hyndman III Senior Amateur. The dates are August 24 through 26.  The practice round is scheduled for August 23.  After having to have cancelled the 2010 dates due to course conditions, the club is proud to continue the tradition this year.  The golf course has recovered wonderfully from last year's stress and as long as there are no 'perfect storms' in the future, conditions should be as good as ever.  The tournament started in 1997 being a continuation the Lynnewood Hall Senior Division.

Zylstra and Hullender Champions in 2008

Bill Zylstra(Detroit, MI) kept his patience on the firm and fast golf course and captured this year's senior championship by 6 shots over Don Ericson(DuBois, PA) and Warren Choate(Montoursville, PA).  Even though the course played short, it was a challenge to get the ball to stay on the green unless you were in the fairway.

In the Super Senior group, Bob Hullender(San Antonio, TX) beat Jay Howson(Malvern, PA) on the 1st extra hole in sudden death.  Charles McClaskey finished third 3 shots behind.  Bob acknowledged the challenge the course presented when he said "I've played all over and these were the toughest conditions I've ever seen."  Phil Saylor commented, "Now I don't have to go the Scotland.  This is just like Scotland except the weather is perfect."
