Infinity of dark sky
and silences:
where is the music, the etudes -
laughter of the spheres?
Antiquity and classical time
had its myths and satyrs,
their music and their dance,
the elements and their glades:
Pan and Silenus,
Silenus, teacher
and accumulator of knowledge,
instructor of young Dionysus,
fore-runner and image maker
for Socrates,
the fawn and the goat,
pro-illuminators of a universe:
etudes, echoes in a forest,
the satyrs and Pan,
music and knowledge,
the rhythms of longing,
intimations of desire;
soft echoes, glades and forests,
springtime and abundance,
shadows and images
beneath star filled skies,
the Zodiac
and the soft - stepped luna dance -
memories and remnants - laughter -
faint rhythms, barely, ever-more faintly heard.
